Starting a New Site

Anyone can start a Girls on the Run Site — parents, teachers, principals, guidance counselors, after-school activities directors, community members, or anyone with a desire to make a difference in the lives of girls. Here’s how:

Step 1: Connect with our Council

Email the Council Director, Liz Dietrich, at Tell her the name and location of the school, community center, church, or meeting place where you want to start a Girls on the Run Site, and the best way to contact you.

Within three business days, the Council Director will reach out to you and answer any questions you have, and help guide you through the next steps for starting Girls on the Run at your school, community center, or other meeting place.

Step 2: Submit a New Site Application

Your final step will be to complete the New Site Application, and submit the form to GOTR HI for site approval. We normally approve applications for new sites within 10 business days.

After your application is approved, the Council Director will assist you throughout the season with everything from coach recruitment and training to the end-of-season 5K.

That’s it. Need help along the way? No worries. Your Girls on the Run Council Director is always just a phone call or email away.

To be considered for the Fall 2017 season, new site applications must be received by August 4, 2017.
